You Call Him Dr. Jones!
Looks like “consensus” isn’t what it used to be. Dr. Phil Jones, one of the central figures to the recent problems with the pro-AGW theories and data and recent former director of the University of East Anglia’s Climatic Research Unit has come out and admitted a few things:
1. He isn’t well organized so some of the source data that he used to form the infamous “hockey stick” graph is missing. Apparently this flaw of his led him to be reluctant to share the data with other researchers. Why being disorganized leads one to not share doesn’t make sense to me…
2. He said that there has been “no statistically significant warming” in the last 15 years.
3. Settled science isn’t there – he admits that the debate over the medieval warming period (800-1300AD) being warmer than now is far from over.
The spin will commence from here on both sides. Remember, the bottom line of all of this is that we just don’t know enough to make informed decisions. Particularly those with severe economic costs and implications. Before we throw worse money after bad money (the good money is already spent), let’s take a deep breath and try to figure out what makes sense. The climate changes but as far as human contributions to it versus the Sun, versus some other factor that we have yet to discover is unknown.
GorT is an eight-foot-tall robot from the 51ˢᵗ Century who routinely time-travels to steal expensive technology from the future and return it to the past for retroinvention. The profits from this pay all the Gormogons’ bills, including subsidizing this website. Some of the products he has introduced from the future include oven mitts, the Guinness widget, Oxy-Clean, and Dr. Pepper. Due to his immense cybernetic brain, GorT is able to produce a post in 0.023 seconds and research it in even less time. Only ’Puter spends less time on research. GorT speaks entirely in zeros and ones, but occasionally throws in a ڭ to annoy the Volgi. He is a massive proponent of science, technology, and energy development, and enjoys nothing more than taking the Czar’s more interesting scientific theories, going into the past, publishing them as his own, and then returning to take credit for them. He is the only Gormogon who is capable of doing math. Possessed of incredible strength, he understands the awesome responsibility that follows and only uses it to hurt people.
