I humbly refer to a previous post sent some time ago relating to Congressmen and their staff getting ready to bail out of their positions on Capitol Hill because of Sen Grassley’s insistence they be covered by Obamacare just the same as the great unwashed that elected them to their posts. They were leaving because under this provision, soon to be enacted, their health care costs would skyrocket to the point of unaffordability. Another blog today has posted news that yesterday, Dear Leader promised an Obamacare “carve-out” for Congressional staff due to the furor over its cost as previously reported. Last night, Harry Reid reportedly confirmed a deal was in the works to exempt Congressmen and their staffs from the program in remarks made as he was leaving the Senate and stealing off into the night. Today, it has been reported on “MarketWatch,” an arm of the WSJ, that a deal has been reached to continue the government 75% subsidy for health coverage for Congressmen and their staffs, thereby avoiding their having to comply with the very law they have written and have imposed on us against our will. I recall your reply to a previous post I submitted regarding Congressional approval ratings, and how everyone is fed up with Congress, but not their own Congressman. I’m hoping this news will change that perception.

You are, alas, correct. Congressional staffers are no longer going to be involved in Obamacare. So the number of Americans forced into participation has dwindled, meaning that care costs will go up yet further. Remember, Congress exempted itself; unions do not need to participate, and many businesses have found ways to exempt themselves.
The number of people being screwed by Obamacare dwindles; the costs to those who are screwed intensify. Good luck getting it repealed when ultimately it becomes another tax on the working class. There aren’t enough of us to vote it out of existence.
