An American Hero
On January 2, 2011, Major Richard Winters passed away in Palmyra, Pennsylvania. If you’re not familiar with Maj. “Dick” Winters then you probably didn’t watch the impressive “Band of Brothers” mini-series on HBO (later re-aired on a number of cable stations). He rose through the ranks of Company “E” (Easy Company), 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division during World War II. He was a decorated member of the military and, much like the mini-series depicted, a true class act. The world needed men like Maj. Winters and we are saddened on the occasion of his passing and thankful for his service to his country and the world.
One hopes that we don’t endure another global war like that. However, even in these times, one does wish for the straightforward and honorable leadership he demonstrated.
A bill stalled in the 111th Congress to award him the Medal of Honor (another member of his division had been awarded the Medal of Honor and current guidelines for that award limit the number of awardees within a division) sponsored by Rep. Tim Holden (D-PA). I do hope that this Congress picks up this bill and unanimously approves it.

GorT is an eight-foot-tall robot from the 51ˢᵗ Century who routinely time-travels to steal expensive technology from the future and return it to the past for retroinvention. The profits from this pay all the Gormogons’ bills, including subsidizing this website. Some of the products he has introduced from the future include oven mitts, the Guinness widget, Oxy-Clean, and Dr. Pepper. Due to his immense cybernetic brain, GorT is able to produce a post in 0.023 seconds and research it in even less time. Only ’Puter spends less time on research. GorT speaks entirely in zeros and ones, but occasionally throws in a ڭ to annoy the Volgi. He is a massive proponent of science, technology, and energy development, and enjoys nothing more than taking the Czar’s more interesting scientific theories, going into the past, publishing them as his own, and then returning to take credit for them. He is the only Gormogon who is capable of doing math. Possessed of incredible strength, he understands the awesome responsibility that follows and only uses it to hurt people.
