As a minor follow up on the soccer vs. baseball thread, I will point out that the GorT spawn first experienced a “fairness” rule in baseball. This was after they had a number of years of experience with soccer, lacrosse and basketball. In fact, the only “fairness” rules we’ve experienced are:
1. Baseball – the first year, each boy in the lineup got to bat. Regardless of what the fielder did (catch a pop fly, tagged the runner, tagged a base for a force out), the runner stayed and advanced (only 1 base allowed per batter).
2. Baseball (and Softball) – in a single inning, when a team scores 5 runs it’s automatically two outs. At ten runs, the side is retired. If the home team is up by 15 runs after 4½ innings or the visiting team is up by 15 runs after the 5th inning, the game is complete.
One of the soccer leagues does not have any mercy rules (and we’ve beaten teams by double-digits) and another league has a mercy rule that after roughly ¾ of the game time is played, if one team is ahead by more than 8 goals, the game is complete.
GorT is an eight-foot-tall robot from the 51ˢᵗ Century who routinely time-travels to steal expensive technology from the future and return it to the past for retroinvention. The profits from this pay all the Gormogons’ bills, including subsidizing this website. Some of the products he has introduced from the future include oven mitts, the Guinness widget, Oxy-Clean, and Dr. Pepper. Due to his immense cybernetic brain, GorT is able to produce a post in 0.023 seconds and research it in even less time. Only ’Puter spends less time on research. GorT speaks entirely in zeros and ones, but occasionally throws in a ڭ to annoy the Volgi. He is a massive proponent of science, technology, and energy development, and enjoys nothing more than taking the Czar’s more interesting scientific theories, going into the past, publishing them as his own, and then returning to take credit for them. He is the only Gormogon who is capable of doing math. Possessed of incredible strength, he understands the awesome responsibility that follows and only uses it to hurt people.
