Be thankful the right-wing media is pushing this story out, because God know the rest of the media are hiding this story.

An interesting analysis by Pew Research correlated two critical pieces of data: gun homicide rates are down by half since 1993, but the American people are unaware of this.

In fact, 84% of Americans are unaware that gun crimes have dropped; 56% actually think they have gone up in the last 20 years.

The explanation for this is unanimously and immediately clear: the liberals in the media and in politics have been lying, exaggerating, and otherwise promoting these notions. You can read about this, well, pretty much anywhere in the last two days. When the President stands in front of children and says something has to be done now about the hellish outbreak of gun rampages, the average person tends to think perhaps that something is getting worse.

And that leads the Czar to this awful realization: gun crimes are half what they were in the happy-go-lucky 1990s. Why is no one jumping up and down? Hey, between Clinton, Bush, and Obama, gun deaths have dropped by almost 50 percent, America! Congratulate us! Feel good about law enforcement, feel good about yourselves! America is one of the safer countries in the world, and by God, we did it with libertarian and without totalitarian methods.

Gun crimes are down for a large number of factors: economic, social, political, legal, and so on. There are perhaps a hundred good explanations for this drop in crime—some lean left, some lean right, but all are plausible. But one inarguable facet is that easier concealed carry laws are tied to the decrease—all other facets can be true, too, but this one neatly tracks with the decrease. The link is nearly causal, if not exactly so.

So get this: liberals would rather lie and hide a massive increase in public safety because one reason out of many contradicts their gun control argument. Rather than crow about dropping crime rates during 12 years of Democratic presidencies—and goodness knows even Democrats don’t consider themselves law and order types and ought to welcome this news—they would rather conceal this truth in order to place more restrictions on American liberties.

There is only one reason someone would do so, psychologically: to maintain a crooked hold on power. And as a result, instead of conservatives offering liberals conditional congratulations (“See? If we work together, crime can drop”), we rightfully shake our heads at this psychopathy. You would rather hide the truth about something great than admit your religion was wrong about something bad. Pathetic.

The Czar of Muscovy

The Czar was born in the steppes of Russia in 1267, and was cheated out of total control of all Russia upon the death of Boris Mikhailovich, who replaced Alexander Yaroslav Nevsky in 1263. However, in 1283, our Czar was passed over due to a clerical error and the rule of all Russia went to his second cousin Daniil (Даниил Александрович), whom Czar still resents. As a half-hearted apology, the Czar was awarded control over Muscovy, inconveniently located 5,000 miles away just outside Chicago. He now spends his time seething about this and writing about other stuff that bothers him.
