Ron Paul Self-Destructs At Last

One of the best comments about Ron Paul was sent to us some time ago by Bluesun, who forwarded us a comment that Ron Paul was a broken clock who was right 23 hours a day.

The Ron Paul clock broke for good.

Since Ron Paul is wrongly regarded as a conservative—he is more of a frontier libertarian—the liberals have been parading a tweet of his for the last couple of days in which he said that murdered Navy SEAL Chris Kyle lived by the sword, and thus died by the sword. There is no question that this was meant to be a critical comment directed at Kyle.

The implication is that Kyle somehow deserved his fate because he was a military man helping other combat vets deal with PTSD.

The tweet was taken down, and no apology tweeted up. In fact, worsening the whole situation, is Paul doubling down on Facebook:

As a veteran, I certainly recognize that this weekend’s violence and killing of Chris Kyle were a tragic and sad event. My condolences and prayers go out to Mr. Kyle’s family...Unconstitutional and unnecessary wars have endless unintended consequences. A policy of non-violence, as Christ preached, would have prevented this and similar tragedies. -REP

In other words, Paul meant what he said.

Paul, for three decades, has preached that the United States military was too big and needed to be cut down. Quite a few people, the Czar included, suspected he was secretly anti-military, having served at a time when hatred and distrust of the military was part and parcel of the counter-culture. Paul is even the right age to have been part of the anti-military crowd.

And these comments prove to us, at any rate, that Ron Paul does not trust and even dislikes our troops. He has revealed himself not as some controversial budget cutting fiscal hawk, but as a complete dove. Of the hippie caliber.

Sorry, Paulistas—your guy refused to walk back his comment and even underlined it. He thinks a deservedly well-decorated military hero, who devoted his entire time and money to helping other veterans adjust, is an anti-Christian figure who had it coming to him.

Paul barely even singled out Kyle, but evidently paints with an extremely offensive broad brush. Sorry—there’s no wiggling out of this one. Paulistas, you backed an offensive idiot with no respect for the military. You wonder why he never wins.

Anyway, it all makes sense: his age, his “counter-culture” positions, and his repeated insistence to legalize drugs and reduce the military to ineffective numbers. He’s a freaking hippie, folks.
