The DNC and Obama's campaign tried attacking Romney over Bain Capital and that has largely been debunked or backfired. They are struggling with the whole offsourcing/onsourcing meme. DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz had her Swiss bank account attack backfire after it was discovered that she had one (as well as significant investments overseas). Even some of the base was damaged when the spending levels of unions were reported and demonstrated to far outweigh any spending concern that took place in Wisconsin earlier this year.
Could it get much worse?
Well, Obama is now getting criticism from supporters over his jobs efforts, especially regarding offsourcing (outsourcing, whatever). Four years ago, Obama pledged to voters that he would work to slow outsourcing by revamping the federal tax code to encourage American job growth.
While White House officials say they have been waiting on Congress to act, Obama’s critics, primarily on the political left, say he has repeatedly failed in other ways to protect American jobs from being moved overseas. They point to a range of actions they say he should have taken: confronting China, reining in unfettered trade and reworking a U.S. visa program that critics say ends up sending high-tech jobs abroad. One might question: what has he done? As a candidate he made many promises but he seems to then sit and wait for Congress to act. Others on the left are jumping on the President - even Chris Matthews:
“What are we trying to do in this administration? Why does he want a second term? Would he tell us? What’s he going to do in the second term? More of this? Is this it? Is this as good as it gets? Where are we going? Are we going to do something the second term? He has yet to tell us. He has not said one thing about what he would do in the second term. He never tells us what he is going to do with reforming our healthcare systems, Medicare, Medicaid, how is going to reform Social Security. Is he going to deal with long-term debt? How? Is he going to reform the tax system? How? Just tell us. Why are we in this fight with him? Just tell us, Commander, give us our orders and tell us where we’re going, give us the mission. And he hasn’t done it.
And I think it’s the people around him, too many people around, they’re little kids with propellers on their heads. They’re all virtual. Politics, this social networking, I get these e-mails, you probably get them. I’m tired of getting them. Stop giving them to me. I want to meet people. Their idea of running a campaign is a virtual universe of sending e-mails around to people. No it’s not. It’s meetings with people, it’s forging alliances. It’s White House meetings and dinner parties that go on till midnight, and he should be sitting late at night now with senators and members of Congress and governors working together on how they‘re going to win this political fight that’s coming.
I don‘t have a sense that he’s ever had a meeting. I hear stories that you will not believe. “
“Don’t you feel, I think everybody feels an absence of communication from the time he’s been elected. And it’s not about not being left-wing enough or too left. That’s not his problem. It’s connection. And Mrs. Obama, she’s an amazing asset. And what has she done? Obesity? How about connecting with the American people about being Americans? I don‘t think she’s, I don‘t think she’s happy. I don’t think they like being in the White House. The American people can tell that. They don’t seem thrilled at the fact the American people have selected them as our first family. I don’t sense the gratitude, the happiness level, the thrill of being president. Bill Clinton loved being president every minute and you knew it.”
That's pretty bad when Matthews sounds that fired up about him. I know Obama was the press equivalent of the ACA/ObamaCare bill - we had to elect him to see who he is. But it gets worse. Really. In a recent interview on Black Panther Radio, the New Black Panther Chairman, Malik Zulu Shabazz took the Democratic Party to task.
The shocking rant against the DNC began with Shabazz declaring that “the American economy is in a halt” and even “mainstream whites are talking about” our country’s decline. The Chairman goes on to call America a ”modern Babylon and a modern Rome.”
Shabazz continued by asking his followers “Can the Democratic Party save you?” Here’s more:
“Can the Democratic Party really save us, locally and nationally, or are we just holding on because we ain’t got nothing better? Are we just being fired up for this election, to go out here and give some votes, and all of the core concerns of the black community will be thrown to the side when November gets passed?”
“Is the Democratic Party going to help with that? Is that even on their agenda, on their radar? Are your concerns being addressed, or are you being used like a whore? That’s the main point here.”
Shabazz reiterated his point by telling his listeners once again:
“We don’t want to be used like whores and prostitutes, we have to pay attention — we have to take charge of our post, accept our own and be ourselves, and stop jiving in bullsh*t.”
This is all on top of the poor economic numbers with the spin from the White House as "it's a step in the right direction". A step that isn't even at a pace that meets our population growth. After over 280 consecutive months where more than 60% of working-age Americans were employed, Obama has overseen 40 straight months of sub-60% employment-to-population.
This doesn't paint a pretty picture at all.
