Wilson and Obama? No Way!

Lots of commentators are pointing out seemingly scary similarities between Woodrow Wilson and Barack Obama. Heck, they just say that because both are Progressives. In fact, there are lots of differences between Wilson and Obama.

For example:

Wilson lived most of his life in the North but was born in the South.	Obama lived most of his life in the North but was born possibly in Hawaii. Which is the southernmost state, actually.
Wilson was a graduate of the UVA School of Law and served as president of Princeton University, avoiding any actual business experience.	Obama was a graduate of Harvard law School and was president of the Harvard Law Review. Everything he learned about business he got from his years at ACORN.
Wilson returned Democrats to power in all three houses (Representatives, Senate, White) and was the first Democratic president after 16 years.	Obama returned Democrats to the same level of power and was the first Democratic president after only 8 years.
Wilson took control over large sections of industry under the Underwood-Simmons Tariff.	Obama took control over large sections of industry under the Stimulus Plan.
Wilson reorganized the banking system to maintain tighter federal control over the financial industries.	Obama had someone else do that.
Wilson largely ignored the plight of black Americans because he harbored racist attitudes.	Obama largely ignores the plight of black Americans because you harbor racist attitudes.
Wilson promised and failed to keep America out of war, all the time planning to use the excuse of a world war to enable liberal reforms.	Obama promised and failed to get America out of war, all the time planning to use the excuse of a healthcare crisis to enable liberal reforms.
Wilson enacted censorship laws, spied on Americans, and actively suppressed the media unless they supported him and his policies.	Obama established a drop-a-dime-on-your-neighbor website, established domestic surveillance on Americans, and actively embeds the media in his campaign while releasing negative stories on weekend evenings and holiday mornings.
Wilson thought the Constitution needed to be flexible and advocated the elimination of Congress.	Obama believes the Constitution to be a living document, and is at this point considering eliminating certain people within Congress. And really...do you blame him about Pelosi?
Wilson produced fourteen non-negotiable points for reforming Europe.	Obama produced between six and eight non-negotiable points for reforming healthcare.
Wilson used an army of 75,000 Four Minute Men to deliver millions of pro-Wilson propaganda speeches across America.	Obama appears on Letterman, Leno, and on three different Sunday morning talk shows, which is a heckuva lot more efficient.
Wilson used the APL to execute corrupt and criminal activities that he could not publicly advocate.	Obama has said very little about the ACORN scandals.
Anyone who opposed Wilson was branded a traitor.	Anyone who opposes Obama is branded a racist.
