In Which 'Puter Agrees With The NYT

The New York Times in an editorial today states President Obama must not permit trade protectionism to become part of his program. The editorial cites the spending bill's abrogation of the United States' duty under NAFTA to permit Mexican truckers to operate in the United States, which resulted in Mexico increasing tariffs on 90 U.S. products in retaliation.

Exactly correct. Protectionism will further weaken our economy at a moment we can least afford it. Good for the NYT for stating the obvious.
